1 Cor. 9:19, 22-23 so eloquently states, “For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more…I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means, save some. Now this I do for the gospel’s sake…“ This is the fuel that feeds Elder Apryl Young’s fire. From her birth, she was raised in the fear and admonition of the Lord. The Word of God was instilled in her from childhood.
Apryl experienced her second birth on January 2, 1982 when she accepted Jesus as her Saviour. Educated along the eastern seaboard, she graduated from Lincoln University of PA with a degree in Modern Languages and Human Services. She has traveled the length and breadth of this country, as well as abroad. She further her education at The American University (Washington, DC), where she studied Linguistics with an emphasis in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL).
Housed within this earthly vessel lies an abundance of treasures. Apryl has been graced with many gifts, talents, and abilities. Her passion is Worship, but her greatest endeavor is to reach multitudes through the divine call of God on her life. Her bowels yearn for the broken, bruised and bewildered. She is charged with the Is. 61:1 mandate, “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the physical and spiritual captives and the opening of the prison of the eyes to those who are bound…” (Amplified)
Having been raised and mentored in ministry physically and spiritually, has instilled Apryl’s burden to minister to God’s people. Having been reminded of Jer. 1:5; she is an ordained minister and Prophetic Elder and is charged with the Ephes. 4:12 mandate. She surrendered in humble obedience and accepted her calling to ministry in 2001. She then pneumatically positioned herself for a more in depth knowledge of the Word of God, studying at Trinity International University (Evangelical Divinity School), Christian International School of Theology, as well as Loving You to Life Bible Institute, under the tutelage of Apostle James E. Latimore, Sr. She continues to receive Apostolic impartation, teaching and training through Labourers for Christ Ministries Christian Counseling Training Institute (CCTI), where she has earned a diploma in Practical Christian Ministry with an emphasis in Christian Counseling, as well as an Advanced Diploma in Pastoral Studies. Elder Young is also a certified instructor of the Ministering Spiritual Gifts Apostolic/Prophetic teaching modules through Christian International Ministries Network. Elder Young received her Master’s in Pastoral Counseling and Doctorate in Christian Education Leadership through Hope Bible Institute & Seminary.
Dr. Young’s heart’s desire is to equip the saints to impact the world in preparation for Christ’s return. She is called to be a prophetic watchman intercessor and a voice to the nations. She has a strong, precise anointing in prophetic ministry, as well as healing and deliverance. She has been impregnated with a vision to see the broken restored to wholeness and holiness.
Dr. Young believes in educating, equipping and exhorting the Body of Christ. Led by the Lord and empowered by the Holy Spirit, she is the visionary and founder of Unleash the Fire Ministries, birthed in April 2013 out of Jer. 20:9 and Acts 2:2-3. The anointing (fire) upon this God-given ministry is one that destroys yokes, demolishes strongholds, and produces a purifying holiness and incessant love to our LORD Jesus Christ. Within this on-growing ministry, Dr. Young has implemented a distance-education Bible Study program and also provides Pastoral care, spiritual oversight and mentoring. She is also in covenant partnership with Labourers for Christ Ministries-Apostolic Ecumenical Network, under the ecclesiastical and Apostolic covering of Apostle Dr. Shawnette Houghton.
Elder Young has served the Kingdom of God and Body of Christ in a myriad of leadership capacities, including Prophetic Presbytery, Youth Director and Church Administrator. She has developed training manuals for new believers, implemented various programs, as well as coordination/facilitation of numerous conferences, retreats, wordshops and prayer breakfasts. Currently she serves in ministry through preaching, teaching, training, deliverance, prophetic utterance and intercession. She serves on the ministerial staff of Labourers for Christ Ministries Word Life Center, as well as on the board for various Christian ministries.
